Smith Cleaning began in St Ives in 2003, when Luke Smith started window cleaning after leaving school.
We provide professional exterior cleaning for homes, holiday properties and businesses across St Ives, Carbis Bay, Lelant and Hayle.
After three years living in Yorkshire, Luke returned to St Ives with his wife Neacy in 2011. Together they developed the business, building long-standing relationships with homeowners, housekeepers, holiday let managers and local businesses.
Our work began with professional window cleaning and has developed into a wider exterior cleaning service using specialist equipment and modern cleaning systems. From hot pure-water window cleaning and high-level access to gutter clearing, wall cleaning and other exterior maintenance, we select the method best suited to the property, surface and access.
In November 2016, another important part of the Smith Cleaning story began when Luke took on the St Ives town window-cleaning round of long-standing local window cleaner Alf Johns, after Parkinson’s disease prevented Alf from continuing.
We carry £10 million Public Liability Insurance and invest in professional equipment, training and systems that allow us to work safely and effectively across a wide range of residential and commercial properties.
Our experience around the Cornish coast has given us a strong understanding of the conditions local properties face, including salt, sand, gull debris, algae and weather-related build-up.
We focus on properties where presentation, reliability and ongoing care matter.

Good exterior cleaning is about more than the finished appearance. It is also about how the property is treated while the work is being carried out.
We combine experienced operators, specialist equipment and careful working methods with clear communication and dependable scheduling.

Smith Cleaning remains a family-run business, led by Luke and Neacy Smith and supported by experienced team members who help us deliver our regular residential and commercial work.
Luke started the business in 2003, with Luke and Neacy developing Smith Cleaning together after returning to St Ives in 2011.
